Were You Given Anesthesia At Your Appointment Today?

It will take a few hours before the anesthetic wears off. It’s always a good idea to be careful on the side of the mouth you’re numb. Avoid harder foods like almonds or popcorn kernels, better yet, wait until the numbness wears off. The numb feeling can last anywhere between 2 to 5 hours.

Extraction or Surgery

Remember to bite on the gauze for at least 30 minutes after the extraction to stop or slow down bleeding. If still oozing, replace with the extra gauze given and repeat with pressure.

Use an ice pack to help with any swelling. Apply for 20 minutes, remove for 20, and reapply. Repeat often during the first 1-2 days after the procedure.
